ENRICHMENT BROCHURE – Winter 2019 Session


Ute Meadows Elementary Fall 2018 session was a great success! Thank you to everyone who participated in the fun, educational classes and provided feedback in our survey. We are  excited to continue to provide an eclectic variety of after school enrichments for our students for Winter 2019. We will continue to expand the offerings as interest and demand from our school community grows.

Registration Information:

All of the programs handle their own registration online. The Ute Meadows office does not collect any registration forms or payment for Winter 2019 After School Enrichment Classes. Please refer to each of the program provider’s registration link and website for additional information or questions.


Winter Session Details:

  • The Winter 2019 Session is 7-weeks for all classes taking place on Monday’s and 9-weeks for all classes taking place Tuesday’s through Thursday’s.

  • The Winter session will start the week of January 14th and end the week of March 11th. The classes will take place from 3:05pm-4:05pm each week on a specified day.
  • Classes will not be held on Monday, January 21 (Martin Luther King , Jr. Day) or Monday, February 18 (President’s Day) due to the observed holidays and school closures.
  • All prices listed for each program are for students to attend the entire Winter Session per the specified day and time. There is no drop-in option for any of the programs.

  • Parents/Guardians are responsible for picking up their student on-time or late fees may be assessed by the program provider. The school office closes promptly at 3:30pm.
  • Scholarships may be available depending on the program.


Dismissal and Student Pick Up:

For class dismissal all instructors will walk their students to the main entrance of the school and exit the building to meet for pick up of each student. Parent/Guardians or an authorized adult must sign out a student on the class roster. We discourage allowing students to walk to the car drop off area to be picked up and prefer parents to walk to the front entrance. There should not be entry/re-entry into the school after hours for any adults or students.

MONDAY

Sticky Fingers Cooking

Let your child release their inner chef! Students will prepare and eat healthy, globally-inspired recipes all while loving and learning to cook in a fun, engaging and irresistibly tasty way that will turn even the pickiest eaters into avid food explorers!
Our fun, inspiring and creative chef instructors mix together a sense of engagement and excitement as they combine the love of cooking and fun nutritional facts (even a few bad jokes!), safe cooking skills and hygiene, jokes, geography, math skills, food culture and history to help instill a lifetime love of delicious, healthy family cooking.
Your kids will have a blast every week discovering how easy and fun it is to cook (and gobble-up!) tasty, healthy, American classics as well as globally-inspired Sticky Fingers Cooking recipes! Sticky Fingers Cooking offers young chefs the chance to explore exciting tastes, all seasonal and as local as possible, master culinary skills that they can put to use in family kitchens, all while nourishing their bodies and minds.
We practice safe chopping, measuring and mixing skills, use a wide array of cooking utensils all while creating awesomely delicious recipes from the freshest ingredients. Full recipes will be created each class with our AWESOME master chef Sticky Fingers Cooking instructors.

Little Medical School

Calling All Future Doctors!

Kids love to dress up and play doctor! At Little Medical School® we encourage children to do this as they explore the exciting and inspiring world of medicine. Using role-playing, interactive demonstrations, crafts, and games, kids learn how the body and organs work, how to use instruments that real doctors use, administer first aid, and more! Each child will receive a medical stethoscope to take home in addition to a disposable white lab coat, multiple models made by the students, and a diploma as a graduate of Little Medical School.

Space Adventures using LEGO Bricks

Space, often called “the last frontier”, has inspired scientists, star-gazers and adventurers for generations. Get inspired to go on your own adventure and join us on a Mission 2 Space! Discover some incredible structures at Kennedy Space Center’s Launch Complex 39, travel the surface of the moon on a lunar rover, and explore Mars onboard the “Curiosity”. Our tour would not be complete without a visit to the International Space Station. We’ll provide the bricks; all you need to bring for this adventure is your imagination!

Young Rembrandts

Drawing & Cartoon Drawing

Enroll your elementary student in a Young Rembrandts cartoon and drawing class. In our goofy animal portraits, students will learn how to personify animals, transforming them into cartoon characters. The importance of facial exaggeration and body gesture will be showcased in our illustrations featuring baseball characters and ogre expressions. Colorado's first on-camera and movie making classes created by two Golden, CO moms! Recent award winner of 2018 Colorado Parent Magazine Family Favorites. Talk to the Camera empowers kids to get creative and use their imaginations through filmmaking, being on camera and having fun!

Robotics for Little Coders with Ozobot is an opportunity for young children to develop their computational thinking skills, build their first programs, and have fun with new friends! Ozobot's programming is designed specifically for early readers, taking into account the cognitive abilities and typical attention span of children ages 5-7. Students are introduced to basic coding concepts with simple tasks, such as customizing their Ozobot and assigning commands through different colors, then build up to more complex tasks with Ozobot's simple drag-and-drop language.
