Why Should You Attend Ute Meadows Elementary?
Ute Meadows Elementary is located in Littleton, Colorado. Anchored in whole child development and a learning centered vision, Ute Meadows aims for students to become creators, collaborators, problem finders/solvers, connectors, and explorers through a model that emphasizes Rigor, Relevance and Relationships.
At Ute Meadows, there is a strong commitment by every staff member to support student learning through authentic learning, differentiated instruction and involving parents as partners. We utilize data to drive our instruction and meet the needs of each learner. Our teachers have been trained in the Orton-Gillingham multi-sensory approach to reading, and Illustrative Math. Art, Music and PE are available to all K-5 students as well as a variety of enrichment classes after school. Band and Orchestra is offered to all 4th and 5th grade students. We are also proud to include a Significant Support Needs Center (SSN) in our school. Our Ute Alliance Committee works on projects that have a positive impact on our school community, their neighborhood and the world. While known for our academic excellence, we are also equally committed to supporting the needs and development of the whole child. We foster a caring, welcoming, and respectful environment, and proactively teach social-emotional skills throughout the school day. Our school is dedicated to a strong sense of community and belonging where all are welcome. Ute Meadows is a great place to grow!

Thinking Maps
80% of the information that the brain processes is visual. Thinking Maps provide students with the tools to visually process and organize information. Ute Meadows students begin learning the eight different Thinking Maps starting in preschool.
Restorative Practices
Restorative practices represent a positive step forward in helping all students learn to resolve disagreements, take ownership of their behavior, and engage in acts of empathy and forgiveness. There are many ways to implement restorative practices in the classroom.
Homework Policy
Ute Meadows supports the development of the whole child, and research shows that there is little benefit from homework in young children. Therefore, at Ute Meadows there is a no homework policy.
Outdoor Classrooms
In 2018, our Ute Meadows Elementary PTA teamed to create an outdoor learning space that would offer fresh air, mask breaks and more opportunity for social distancing in addition to increasing students' social, emotional, and mental well-being.
Healthy Schools
The mission of a healthy school is to support culture, policy, and environments that promote healthy lifestyle choices, life skills and attitudes, benefiting staff, students and their families. At Ute Meadows Elementary, all students are guaranteed at least two recess/movement breaks every day. Research shows physical activity at school is a win-win for students and teachers with increased focus that leads to better grades in math and English, as well as reduced behavior management.
