ENRICHMENT BROCHURE – Fall 2018 Session


Ute Meadows Elementary is excited to provide an eclectic variety of after school enrichments for our students for Fall 2018. We hope to expand the offerings as interest and demand from our school community grows.


Registration Information:


All of the programs handle their own registration online. The Ute Meadows office does not collect any registration forms or payment for Fall 2018 after school enrichment classes. Please refer to each of the program provider’s registration link and website for additional information or questions.


The Fall Session is 8-weeks, Monday through Thursday, starting the week of September 10th and ending the week of November 5th. Each program is offering one class per week on a specified day. The classes will take place from 3:05pm-4:05pm. Classes will not be held the week of Oct. 8th due to parent-teacher conferences. All prices listed for each program are for students to attend the entire Fall Session, 8-classes per the specified day and time. There is no drop-in option for any of the programs.


Parents/Guardians are responsible for picking up their student on-time or late fees may be assessed by the program provider. The school office closes promptly at 3:30pm.


Scholarships may be available depending on the program.

Sticky Fingers Cooking

Let your child release their inner chef! Students will prepare and eat healthy, globally-inspired recipes all while loving and learning to cook in a fun, engaging and irresistibly tasty way that will turn even the pickiest eaters into avid food explorers!

Our fun, inspiring and creative chef instructors mix together a sense of engagement and excitement as they combine the love of cooking and fun nutritional facts (even a few bad jokes!), safe cooking skills and hygiene, jokes, geography, math skills, food culture and history to help instill a lifetime love of delicious, healthy family cooking.

Your kids will have a blast every week discovering how easy and fun it is to cook (and gobble-up!) tasty, healthy, American classics as well as globally-inspired Sticky Fingers Cooking recipes! Sticky Fingers Cooking offers young chefs the chance to explore exciting tastes, all seasonal and as local as possible, master culinary skills that they can put to use in family kitchens, all while nourishing their bodies and minds.

We practice safe chopping, measuring and mixing skills, use a wide array of cooking utensils all while creating awesomely delicious recipes from the freshest ingredients. Full recipes will be created each class with our AWESOME master chef Sticky Fingers Cooking instructors.

Little Veterinarian School®: Darling Doggies!

Little Veterinarian School® encourages children to explore the exciting world of veterinarians and one of our favorite canine companions, Dogs! Using role-playing, interactive demonstrations, crafts and games, kids learn how to take care of a pet and perform tasks that real veterinarians do in this fun-filled program. Each child will adopt a new stuffed furry friend that will be used throughout the camp. Children will take home their new canine companion, disposable white lab coat, water bowl, dog-friendly treat recipes, and a graduation diploma. Topics include: Roles & Responsibilities in the Veterinarian’s Office, Food and Water, Lacerations, Ticks, Radiology, the Immune System and Vaccinations, Canine Body Language, and more!

Ticket 2 Ride with LEGO Bricks

Theme: Amusement Park Rides

Delve into the history and mechanics of favorite amusement park rides in this imaginative unit. Students will construct a Carousel Swing, Tilt a Whirl, Loop de Loop ride, Swing boat ride, and Merry Go Round. Lessons incorporate principles of physics, described in a way children can understand, such as “G-force” inertia and momentum, as well as math concepts such as “there are 360 degrees in a circle”. These engaging lessons will give students an understanding of the physical forces they experience every day.

Young Rembrandts

Enroll your elementary student in a Young Rembrandts cartoon and drawing class. In our goofy animal portraits, students will learn how to personify animals, transforming them into cartoon characters. The importance of facial exaggeration and body gesture will be showcased in our illustrations featuring baseball characters and ogre expressions. And, in keeping with the season, our students will create fall-themed illustrations like a farmer’s scarecrow and covered wagon. Beginning Spanish

Are you looking for a fun and engaging way for your child to learn Spanish? During this class, we will work as a group by playing language games, singing songs, making crafts, and learning about Spanish speaking cultures.  We design our programs to include all age-appropriate fun activities and continue developing literacy skills in the target language. Game Development  (Beginner-Intermediate)

This course introduces kids to computer programming through the fun and excitement of building video games. Working in Scratch, a drag-and-drop programming tool, students will create everything from animations to multi-level games. Beginner Students will learn the core concepts of programming a game, such as loops, conditionals, and variables. Intermediate Students will level-up to more complex concepts, like nested conditionals and functions with parameters. Projects are updated each session, so returning students will have new challenges to work through and advance their creativity and knowledge to the next level.
